Prof. N. Gopi Krishna did B.Sc from Osmania University in 1978 and M.Sc from Kakatiya University in 1980.He obtained distinction in both the classes.He completed his Doctoral work for Ph.D degree in Physics from Kakatiya University and  IICT, Hyderabad in 1985.He specialized in Solid State Physics. For his doctoral work he collaborated with Ames laboratory, IOWA State University, USA. He published more than 70  research articles in National and International journals. He presented 20 research papers in National and International Conferences. He supervised seven Ph.D theses and four M.Phil theses. At present two scholars are working for their Ph.D degrees. Presently he is professor, Department of Physics Kakatiya University, Warangal. He joined University service in 1985.He was promoted as professor in 2006.He delivered several talks in physics in various seminars in colleges and universities  He worked as Head, Department of Physics during the period  2013-2015.He worked as Chairman, Board of Studies in Physics for Kakatiya University and Sathavahana University. Recently, he designed a gamma ray densitometer to study the variation of density and thermal expansion of metals and alloys as a function of temperature. His fields of interest include the study of thermal parameters of bulk and nano-materials using X-ray techniques. He extended these studies to several metals, alloys and semi-conductors
